Who We Are

Our Mission

We are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care with compassion, dignity and respect for each individual person and their families.

What We Do

The goal of hospice is comfort and quality of life for individuals with a life-limiting illness and their families.

To help accomplish this goal and our mission Volunteers play a vital role in the care that we provide.

A volunteer is able to help in the following ways while at a patient home or at a facility:

  • Helping patients and families with household chores
  • Run errands for a patient
  • Companionship
    • Cooking a meal while at patient home.
    • Playing an instrument for a patient.
    • Reading a book to a patient.
    • Pray with a patient or family.
    • Write letters with a patient.
    • Other forms of companionship.
  • Lawn care
  • Petcare

Volunteers can also help with office activities for example:

  • Answering phone calls
  • Filing paperwork
  • Assisting with patient and family mailings
  • Data Entry
  • Creating information packets
  • Creating Recruitment packets
  • “Tuck-In” Calls (checking in on patients/caregivers/families)

As we provide a professional level of care for our patients, we ask that our volunteers refrain from doing the following while volunteering with a patient

  • Administering medicine (A volunteer should not touch prescription medicine)
  • Feed a patient (Food can be cooked but a volunteer can’t aid in feeding)
  • Transportation
  • Other physical caring needs (transferring, bathing, changing, etc.)
