Who We Are
Back on My Feet, a national organization operating in 14 major cities across the US, combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources.
Back on My Feet is a healthy community driven by relationships that provide the support, confidence and resources that empower people experiencing homelessness to achieve independence. And we need you to bring your unique self — along with everything you have to offer — to make a meaningful impact.
What We Do
We help individuals experiencing homelessness and in addiction recovery find stability and self-sufficiency.
We utilize volunteers in a variety of roles to support out members.
Social Support- Attend early morning "circle-ups" where we walk and run with members. Circle-ups help members set and achieve goals and become part of a positive community, helping them get mentally and physically stronger.
Workforce Development- Members receive one-on-one support from volunteers on their employment journey. They also attend educational workshops led by community volunteers.
Resource Research- Identify resources in the Indianapolis community and pathways for referrals. These services include education, food pantries, tax assistance, and other programs.
Community Events- Occasionally Back on My Feet is involved in one-day events where we need additional volunteers such as fundraisers and races.
