Rise Against Hunger is an international hunger relief organization that manages the logistics of packaging, storing, and shipping meals overseas. We do so through our three pathways to end hunger which include empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies. We connect our passionate volunteers to the communities we serve internationally through meal packaging events. Meal packaging events are inclusive, high-energy, and very hands-on volunteer service projects and without our amazing volunteers, our mission would not be possible.
Volunteer responsibilities vary throughout this experience and are dependent on what the warehouse manager needs that day. Several shipments of ingredients, equipment, and packaged meals will arrive earlier in the week. Some duties of a Rise Against Hunger volunteer include washing all packing equipment, re-packaging and labeling meals, consolidating packaged inventory, and helping break down pallets.
