Strong consideration will be given to candidates that are bilingual and either have an Information Technology degree or working towards obtaining it.

The IT Volunteer reports to the leadership team and is responsible to provide general IT support for Beacon of Hope Crisis Center’s team. The IT Volunteer would be available for a minimum of 3 hours weekly, providing answers and assisting with troubleshooting of computer, internet, phone, or printer issues. The IT Volunteer would also help with communicating issues with leadership, backing up information, recording common issues and detailing resolutions for staff to easily refer to. The IT Volunteer serves as a knowledgeable source for software, hardware and general tech support within the agency.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a first point of contact for leadership seeking technical assistance for employees and the agency
  • Set up time to speak with employees per leadership approval if necessary to understand the issue and resolve the issue
  • Provide feedback or suggestions to the leadership team that will help reduce common issues
  • Provide detailed proposals on IT products or services required to resolve issues
  • Record technological issues and detail steps to resolve them
    • Provide documentation of steps to leadership
  • Continued education and training on Information Technology, software, hardware and other systems
  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment including but not limited to:
    • Computers
    • Phones
    • Printers
    • Security system
  • Backup files and all documentation regarding technological issues
  • Research issues:
    • I Phone, Microsoft, and desktop updates
    • Suggestions to help the team keep their devices running at optimal performance
  • Work independently to provide additional assistance and resolve issues
  • Maintain professionalism at all times including:
    • Positive rapport with collaborative partners and express only positive feedback

Required Qualifications:
  • Completed or in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field OR previous experience in working in the field
  • Must have strong communication skills – both written and oral
  • Must be open and excited to learn new technologies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite including Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve workstation technical issues
  • Ability to exercise patience and work with staff of all technical ability levels from basic to medium understanding
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Commitment to a non-violent and cooperative work environment

CEO's Personal Assistant

A Personal Assistant helps alleviate the CEO’s schedule by taking care of tasks which take up her time, but can be done by someone else. The CEO delegating tasks to her personal assistant permits her to focus on modeling the organization’s culture and values, leading the team, finding ways to share and spread the cause of domestic violence and our organization, and so many more important responsibilities.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Producing reports, presentations, and briefs
  • Devising and maintaining filing systems
  • Researching various matters requested by the CEO
  • Making outbound calls following guidelines provided by the CEO
  • Accomplishing various tasks requested by the CEO
  • Maintaining building security by insuring that all doors stay locked at all times. Volunteers will never be alone in the building.
  • Supporting other staff and volunteers as needed
  • Maintaining cleanliness and care of the Center’s offices
  • Supporting other areas whenever possible.
